GUIDE: UC Application Deadline & Timeline (2026–2027)

Applying to a University of California (UC) campus can feel overwhelming, especially when you're balancing classes, extracurricular activities, essays, and deadlines all at once.

The good news?

The UC application follows a clear timeline each year, and starting early can make the process much more manageable.

Fall 2027 Application

The UC application opens on August 1, 2026, allowing you to create your account, complete your application, and begin working on your four Personal Insight Questions (PIQs).

Students can begin submitting applications on October 1, 2026, and the final deadline to apply is December 1, 2026.

Tip: Start brainstorming and drafting your PIQs before August if you can. Giving yourself extra time to revise will help you submit a stronger, more polished application.
